I mean, we understand boyfriend’s day, girlfriend’s day and are not quite worked up over kiss day; but proposal day? Come on! But then, we really can’t fight it. It’s a lost battle, and love is really too beautiful to ignore.

History of proposal day

The international proposal day was initiated by John Michael O’Loughlin some years ago. The boyfriend to Michael’s cousin was taking time to plan a marriage proposal. Then he initiated the holiday to probably encourage or force them to get together before it gets too late to do so. Ever since, the International proposal day has been celebrated on the 20th day of March every year.

Proposal day has become a popular holiday all over the world, almost competing with Valentine’s Day. Proposal day averagely records thousands of marriage proposals on the said date every year. While it encourages couples to make the move to spend the rest of their lives together, it isn’t enforcing. You may or may not propose to your significant other on proposal day.

Preparing for Proposal day

Proposal day offers another opportunity to get down on that knee, tell the love of your life how you feel, and ask an important question that’ll probably change your lives forever. There are a couple of ways to go about making a beautiful moment out of your proposal. And by the way, who says the proposal has to be done by the gentleman? Ladies, there are engagement rings available for men too.

Like I mentioned earlier, proposal day doesn’t have to be the day you make your proposal, and yes, there are a couple of other ways to celebrate proposal day. A lot of people for fear of rejection may not want to propose, but then, you should realize it’s okay for you to get rejected. It doesn’t make you less of a person. I mean, at least it’s better than trying to manage a failed marriage. They think you’re not good enough of them doesn’t mean you aren’t perfect for another.

Also, you can take advantage of the proposal day to hint your partner about your decision to want to spend the rest of your life with them. A proposal doesn’t always have to be a surprise. How about throwing a proposal party? You can organize a get together with other people who plan to propose to their significant other.
